ACTION METHODS IMPROVING MOTIVATION AND QUALITY IN THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS
Before starting the course we had to read two articles:
"Nonverbal communication in classroom interactions:a pedagogical perspective of touch" Pangiotis J.Stamatis . The aim of the article is to underline the touch dimensions , the value of touching as an educative strategy that contributes to the improvement of the classroom atmosphere. and
 "Problem -Based learning"
In problem-based learning (PBL) courses, students work with classmates to solve complex and authentic problems that help develop content knoyledge as well as problem-solving, reasoning, communication, and self-assessment skills. These problems also help to maintain student interest in course material because students realize that they are learning the skills needed to be successful in the field.
We started the course with a background for the project. We talk about Active learning environments. Why to use Action Methods?
- a variety of teaching methods increases students' interest and team spirit.
- it develops different aspects of teaching aims (knowledge, sociabilitiy, expression of emotions etc.)
- it motivates "weak" students to offer the best of themselves.
- students construct knowledge through active learning.
- it offers fun and relaxation.
- it offers to the teachers a better climate in the classroom.
- students are more "open" to accept knowledge from teachers that they like.
- Continuous seeking & imagination revive teachers.
- it's not bad to have some FUN during our work.
- sometimes it's important to start with a game, students get relaxed and more open to the work, they have movement, action and are fun.
We also learnt to motivate our students. We talk about improving motivation for learning, from the point of view of pupils, teachers, schools motivation, and societies motivation for school development.
They give us some ideas of how to integrate art teaching and learning and how to promote teacher's well being.
